Our Process
We specialize in one-of-a-kind engagement rings, exceptional gemstone jewelry, and design-led commissions built around strong form, material contrast, and enduring craftsmanship.
What to Expect:
A private, collaborative process centered around exceptional materials, strong form, and enduring craftsmanship.
1. An Introduction and Discussion:
We begin by discussing your priorities, inspiration, materials, gemstones, and the overall direction of the commission.
2. Material Selection:
We review metal options, gemstones, engraving, heirloom materials, and any details that will shape the final piece.
3. Sketch:
Initial sketches or reference concepts are developed to establish direction, scale, and overall composition.
4. Information on Deposits and How to Proceed:
Following the initial consultation, a $600 non-refundable design deposit is required to begin the development phase of the commission.
This stage includes CAD work or hand-fabrication planning, stone sourcing, metal calculations, design refinement, and structural development. Depending on the complexity of the project, this process typically takes 2–4 weeks.
5. Design Approval:
Once the design is approved, we collect a 50% deposit or the purchase price of the center stone for engagement and high-fashion commissions.
From there, materials are sourced and fabrication begins. Depending on the piece, we may use CAD, casting, or entirely hand-fabricated construction. Every commission is finished by hand, including engraving, stone setting, polishing, and final detailing.
The remaining balance is due at pickup or prior to shipping. All custom commissions include complimentary inside-ring engraving and a third-party appraisal where applicable.
How to Prepare:
A small amount of preparation allows us to make the consultation more productive and helps us better understand the direction of your commission.
1. Research and Inspiration:
Gather a small selection of reference images, sketches, or examples that reflect the style, materials, or overall feeling you are drawn to.
2. Define your Budget:
Have a realistic budget range in mind, along with any priorities related to materials, gemstones, engraving, or fabrication.
3. Gather Relevant Materials:
If you have heirloom jewelry, gemstones, old gold, or reference pieces you would like incorporated, bring them to the consultation.
4. Prepare Questions and Discussion Points:
Be prepared to discuss timing, design direction, materials, pricing, and any questions you may have about the process.
